The 1,2,3s of Getting Started ( Beginner Series 2 of 3 )
... step by step process for successfully starting your homeschool ...
“You will NOT live up to your expectations for the first year! About three-quarters of the way through the first year you will face school one day with tears running down your face and the great fear that you have ruined your children for life because you've not accomplished everything you hoped to. Just remember, you are homeschooling for a lifetime - NOT for just a little while. It WILL get better and they WILL grow.
To relieve some pressure and give you greater peace for the first year, I suggest going home and telling your family that you're NOT going to homeschool! Tell them that you're going to "PRACTICE" homeschooling for a year ... and then start. Then when the tears and fears hit, you can just remind yourself, "Oh Yeah! We're not homeschooling this year. We're just practicing! I'll get it right next year!"
